Business Writing and E-mail Skills
This workshop offers participants helpful tips on how to write clear and to-the-point e-mails and memos as well as business reports, policy statements, letters, notes and other documents in less time. It will also provide techniques on how to attract the readers' attention and to communicate more persuasively.
Participants will be able to:
- Write more clearly, concisely and faster by applying the six C's and 10 basic principles of effective business writing
- Write with appropriate tone and style to fit their readers
- Grab readers' attention at the outset of their writing
- Know the do's and don'ts of business e-mail and better understand "e-body language"
- Apply techniques to "trim the fat" from their documents by eliminating monotonous, redundant, and other types of language that detract from their message
- Organize their thoughts better and eliminate "writer's block" so that their ideas are easily understood
- Polish their grammar and usage skills
- Review "tricky twin" words that are often misused
- Learn techniques to make their writing more lively and interesting
- Master attention-getting and persuasive writing skills
